May I take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Christmas for many is a time of joy, a chance to relax and spend time with family and friends. But for others it can be an extremely difficult or lonely time of the year. So, as we reflect upon the past year and look ahead to 2026, let us not forget those who are struggling.
I want to thank all those who will be working hard over the Christmas and New Year period to keep us safe; our NHS workers, Police and other emergency services as well as our servicemen and women. Thanks also to the many workers in our wonderful hospitality sector who will be making the season magical for others.
As your MP, I’ve enjoyed so many Christmas events this year, the light switch ons across the borough in Knutsford, Wilmslow and Handforth, the tree festival at St Mary’s Church in Lymm and earlier this week helped serve lunch and enjoyed a sing song at the Barnton Parish Council Seniors Christmas dinner, among other things. And I still have two further events this week before the Big Day arrives as well as midnight mass with my husband Phil and dad at St Mary’s Rostherne.
