Councillor Frank McCarthy secures increased vote share in Dean Row by-election

Unfortunately we were unable to gain the Dean Row, Wilmslow seat back at the most recent by-election.

Whilst we offer commiserations to our candidate, Frank McCarthy, congratulations are also in order. We were able to make significant gains, with a 9.64% increase in our vote share – reducing the opposition’s lead and putting us in a good position to take back the ward in 2023.

Moreover, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our wonderful volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout the campaign.
We had support from all over Cheshire – from Poynton to Mobberley, Knutsford to Wallasey and Crewe to Congleton – helpers travelled to support the Wilmslow Conservatives and we could not have done it without them.

Furthermore, I would like to give special thanks to two volunteers who went above and beyond during this campaign –
Nicky Owen and George Shirtcliffe. No matter the day, time or weather condition, Nicky and George were there to help.
As a token of our appreciation, we have some little presents waiting for Nicky and George in the Knutsford office.

And finally, thank you very much to our Deputy Chair Political and Wilmslow Town Councillor, Hannan Sarwar, who very kindly hosted an event – Summer’s Night BBQ – to raise the funds for the election campaign. Thanks to the generosity of the Sarwar Family and all those who bought tickets; we were able to print and deliver campaign materials.

Here's to a wonderful weekend!

Kind Regards
