Having recently completed a successful name change and rebranding to become North Cheshire Chamber of Commerce & Enterprise, the team held the first of many ‘Meet the Chamber’ networking mornings at The Colony HQ in Wilmslow with Tatton MP, Rt Hon Esther McVey, joining as guest speaker.
Esther talked about her views on the world of work as it evolves and the challenges of running a Government Department with a turnover the same size as the 37th biggest nation in the world. She talked about the need for the benefit system to be able to support people both in and out of work. She then answered members questions on local, national and international issues.
North Cheshire Chamber of Commerce is one of the largest independent networking membership organisations in Cheshire, providing business services and marketing opportunities for members to promote and grow their business.
Located in the heart of the vibrant and entrepreneurial business community of North Cheshire, the Chamber works to create the right environment in which all businesses can flourish and grow.
The Chamber currently has over 300 valued members, all reflecting the diverse and thriving nature of the local economy that covers Macclesfield, Knutsford, Wilmslow and everywhere in-between. Businesses join the Chamber from all sectors and of all sizes, from start-ups and sole traders to multi-national corporations.
In addition to hosting an array of B2B networking events throughout the year, North Cheshire Chamber provides member-to-member marketing opportunities, business advice, training and exportation services as well as lobbying representation to key stakeholders and influencers in Cheshire.
Chief Executive, Sue Bowden, said “Becoming North Cheshire Chamber will remove any misconception that the Chamber only covers Macclesfield, with the name now truly reflecting the geographic area we support. We hope the name change will encourage businesses across North Cheshire to join us and join in!”.
Esther added “I was pleased to be at the inaugural ‘Meet the Chamber’ event of the rebranded Chamber. It is always interesting to meet business owners, who I see as key to the success of Cheshire as a whole, and the event had a wide range of business interests reflected in the attendees”.
The ‘Meet the Chamber’ initiative is an opportunity for businesses throughout the area to learn more about the services and benefits of becoming a member of the Chamber whilst enjoying a relaxed networking environment.
